Marriott wanted to promote their weddings offering for UK hotels. There was already a presence on the marriott.com website but this was a little hidden and didn’t convey the softer touch needed to make the wedding of your dreams into reality.
Working with another creative agency to deliver the concept of ‘You Day, Your Way’ I lead the digital presence in the form of a fully responsive website, social media strategy and initial digital banner ad concepts. It was clear from the start that social media was a key ingredient to success and that social should be ‘baked in’ form the start. The primary social channel was Pinterest given that it is used as a wedding scrapbook by a huge number of people and can deliver large amplification that would help position Marriott as experts in delivering weddings.
The website was designed to support the visual aspect of Pinterest creating a visual mood board using content pulled from the Marriott Weddings Pinterest board. Venues could also have their own boards showing wedding at their venues that become content on the venue page of the site.
I worked to deliver this project from initial client discussions to delivery. I worked on the initial paper based wireframes to get buy in from the client then delivered concept visuals to show options of how the site could look. A route was chosen and implemented in the final build.
The weddings website has delivered a marked increase in direct enquiries to venues about weddings and continues to increase in traffic and search presence month on month
